With the intent to educate the public about the history, culture,  contemporary life and contributions of California Indians, the center includes exhibits about Ishi (last known member of the Native American Yahi people), two photography collections: Edward S.Curtis California Indian collection and  photographs of Native American photographer Dugan Aguilar (Paiute/Maidu/Pit River), born in Susanville, California in 1947, known for his photographic portraits of the Native communities of California and Nevada; small museum store; senior, youth admittance discount; special events scheduled.
