DERT (Dune Ecosystem Restoration Team) Volunteer - Arcata
Location: Every 2nd Sunday BLM's Ma-le'l Dunes South; every 3rd Saturday at Humboldt Coastal Nature Center
Why Participate? Help remove non-native invasive plants in order to promote native plant and animal life in the dunes. No experience necessary. Training, tools are provided. All ages welcome!
Benefits: Refreshments, camaraderie, and beautiful scenery. Returning volunteers eligible for free t-shirts and hats.

Redwood Coast Jazz Festival volunteer - Eureka
Location: Five venues, downtown
Why Participate? 26+ years festival features local, regional, nationally known musical artists performing traditional jazz, blues, swing and zydeco music. Festival includes ticketed special events: Taste of Main Street, Wine & Jazz, Blues nights, Dance contests; free community concert.
