Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts (CSIA) - Pendleton

Why Go There? Spacious gallery showcases emerging and established Native American artists using contemporary, fine-art printmaking techniques (lithographs, etchings, linocuts, woodcuts). Traditional Native American art practices — weaving, bead working and regalia of the Plateau region, are part of the CSIA collections, all housed within the historic St. Andrews mission schoolhouse, Umatilla Indian Reservation. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization was founded in 1992 to foster artistic potential of Native American people. Since 2001 CSIA focus has been fine-art printmaking. Some works may be seen at the Hallie Ford Museum, Salem, OR.
