Why Go There? Built by Cabot Yerxa in 1941 with intent to become his residence and a museum (opened to the public in 1950), the 5,000 square foot, four story, 35 room building contains Native American art and artifacts, souvenirs of Cabot’s world travels, and Cabot’s own art works; features monthly artists, events; annual fundraiser gala (May); military, senior, youth discounts.

Noah Purifoy Desert Art Museum of Assemblage Art - Joshua Tree

Why Go There? Years in the making, wander and ponder numerous outdoor artworks created by artist Noah Purifoy (deceased) from an astonishing and vast variety of household goods, toys, clothing, machine parts, and pieces of cast-off objects, some recognizable, some not; no cost (donations welcome). Somewhat north of the museum property, but clearly visible, one can spot a "space-ship" looking red pod home.
